Coronado’s Boys Swim and Dive team has had a very successful start to their season. The season officially began on February 17th, with their first meet against Liberty on March 7th. So far, they have done very well in all of their duels, scoring highly and improving their times.
Coach Adam Austin, boy’s head coach, was a swimmer in high school himself and graduated from Coronado in 2020. He has strongly encouraged all of the boys to push themselves during every practice and be intentional about the way that they are practicing: “if we practice how we want to race, we will perform better in our events.”
Many of the boys have already made personal best times. A few also have reached state cuts including Jackson Richardson, Class of 2026, (200 and 50 freestyle), Landon Jones, Class of 2027, (100 breaststroke), Wes Lee Quon, Class of 2026, (100 breaststroke), and a few others.
There are a few more meets this season before leagues and state, their two biggest meets of the year. Leagues will be on May 1st and 2nd at Pine Creek High School and state will be May 7th – 9th at Arvada Aquatics Center.
