AP Students: More Testing Information is Here!

Raven Sanchez, Editor-In-Chief

With the start of March comes new information regarding AP testing; in fact, it is some of the last information AP students will hear about the tests before May. While the testing window is still fairly far from now, it is important for students to know about some of the changes to this year’s testing so they can be prepared when the time comes.

One of the biggest changes to the AP testing process this year is the addition of a new testing site. Some of the tests will be held at the Westside Community Center. Some tests will be given there, but not all of them can take place in that building. If a specific test is not at this new location then it will either be given at the First Evangelical Free Church or here at Coronado. Students will need their own transportation from and to the testing site, and students who have absolutely no means of transportation should contact their counselors or Ms. Schulzki as soon as possible.

Students who are unsure of the locations and times of their exams can look it up here:

Students will also be asked to confirm that they are taking the AP test they registered for one week prior to their testing date and can figure it out that way as well. It is suggested and often required that students show up for the test early. The arrival times will most likely be announced by each specific AP teacher, but contact Ms. Schulzki or the instructor of the class being tested on if this is not announced a few days before a test.

The tests will last approximately three and a half hours, and students will be excused from their classes for half a day per test in order to take it. The results of the exams will be sent to students and can be checked using the assigned AP number given to them at their first test. They will also be sent to any secondary schools and colleges indicated as well. Students can expect to receive these scores in early July, and they will be sent out to schools at this time as well.

As more information becomes known, it is important that students check for updates in any way they can. Students who have questions should talk to their instructor or contact Ms. Schulzki. Good luck to all AP students preparing for the exams in May!
