Inexpensive Date Ideas

“Love don’t cost a thing” – Nick Cannon

Dating in high school can be rough, especially when you have no money. Cultivate your relationship without crushing your wallet with these inexpensive date ideas:

  • Visit the Manitou Penny Arcade: Though the arcade games don’t actually run off pennies, but you can still have a couple hours of fun for only a few dollars of petty cash.

  • Open Mic Night (Wednesday nights at Jives Coffee Lounge): It doesn’t cost a thing to enjoy yourself at this event, unless of course you and your date are caffeine junkies.

  • Watch the Sunset: It’s cliché, but nevertheless romantic, relaxing, and it’s a great opportunity for conversation.

  • Go to a pumpkin patch/ corn maze: Now is the perfect time to go scouting for the perfect pumpkin, and a corn maze is a great way to find out how patient your boyfriend/girlfriend is.

  • Hit the trails: Hiking is a great way to get to know someone, as it is just the two of you on a dirt path. It doesn’t have to be grueling, but if it is now you can say that your loved one has already seen you at your worst.

  • Cook a Meal Together: Not only do you get to eat (which is always a plus) it’s also great way to bond.

  • Try a Painting Class: This is definitely an interesting experience, the worse you are, the funnier it is for your date.

  • A Walkabout: This accompanied with coffee on a fall afternoon is the perfect recipe for romance, and it’s a good way to have your own little adventure.

  • Make/Get Breakfast Together: Do you truly know someone if you don’t know their favorite breakfast food?

  • Netflix and Make Good Decisions: Watching classic movies, starting a new series, just remember that the focus shouldn’t only be on the next episode.
