Netflix boasts 1,000’s of series, movies, and documentaries. With such an array of options, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or fall into the rabbit-hole of searching, not watching. The Cougar Daily has compiled a list of fan favorites that will cure any and all of your entertainment desires.

For Science Fiction and Horror Junkies…

  • Stranger Things: If you’re a science/horror fiction junkie, then Stranger Things is your way to go. Taking place in a small Indiana town, a small group of friends search to find their missing buddy and who they meet along the way just might be able to help. This thrilling 8-episode series will chill you to the bone with its unexpected turns, you won’t able to take your eyes off the screen.

For Those in Pursuit of a Good Mystery…

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: These gifted kids just can’t catch a break. After losing their parents in a tragic accident, three of the smartest people in town are forced to live with their devious uncle, Count Olaf, who plans to use the children to get their parents fortune. Now, they are forced to outsmart any adult, which isn’t that difficult, just to get some answers on what happened to mom and dad.

For Fans of the “Mockumentary”…

  • The Office: The first ‘mockumentary’ aired in the U.S., The Office is chock-full of dry humor, shenanigans, and the human condition. Whether you’re watching it for giggles or tears, it’s destined to keep you entertained.
  • Parks and Rec: If you watched all of The Office and find yourself in a TV rut, then NBC’s Parks and Recreation may just be for you. With the same mockumentary style and great actors such as Amy Poehler and Rob Lowe,  the seven season series is destined to entertain!

  • Friends: The name is pretty self explanatory but, seriously, you need to watch it. Full of laughs and other emotions, the classic series will satisfy your need for 90s grunge and hilarious comedy. 
  • Shameless: Seriously, if you have no idea what Shameless is, just go watch it.
